Charly and the Pumpkin Patch

In February 2013, I tried crocheting and it has become a permanent hobby. This is one of the major crochet projects that I have completed so far. The project had been inspired by my sister's suggestion to make a pumpkin patch and things gained momentum from there.

She helped me photograph* the pumpkins and Charly wanted to join in. Submitted here with her permission.

I made four sizes of pumpkins in all, along with three brown hexagon placemats, and some crochet leaves. There will be other pictures that will show the placemats and each pumpkin size separately, instructions included.

Easy Pumpkin Crochet Tutorial video: www.youtube.com/watch?v=DmUO1d… -- The completion of this simple project is what got things rolling. I figured out a way to adapt this pattern to different sizes and figured out how to make the vines and stems on my own.

Red Heart Super Saver, Worsted weight:

Coffee #0365, Pumpkin #0254, Carrot #0256, Cafe #360, and Green Tones #9629. (Mainly the pumpkins, a few leaves, and the hexagons.)

Chili #3941, Bright Yellow #0324, Sunshine Print #0798, Hot Red #0390, and Ranch Red #332 (The fall leaves.)



Hexagon Placemats: H/8-5mm

Pumpkins: H/8-5mm, I/9-5.5mm, and J/10-6mm

Fall Leaves: F/5-3.75mm
